We’re coming up on one week since the PlayStation Network was shutdown last Wednesday. Sony has provided very little on the subject other then the network is being re-built. Re-building a network doesn't sound as easy as re-building a kids swing set. I’m sure the level of frustration among PlayStation owners is at an all time high. There are more questions then answers to this issue. What steps is Sony taking now that they didn't take before to make the network and PSN user information safe? The most resent concern is whether or not personal information of each PSN user was stolen. This includes billing address, email address and credit card information. If this information was taken what will it do to the trust people once had with Sony? What about the gamers that pay for PlayStation Plus? They pay for the service only to be offline. Many PSN members have requested a free game. I don’t see a reason for nonpaying members to receive compensation for a free service. But Sony may have to give something away to regain trust. What about buying a new title when it releases and then there is no multiplayer? That happened to gamers that purchased SOCOM 4, Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat last week. They’ve been only able to play the campaign. Good thing SOCOM 4 isn’t an online only title. Many gamers only play online even if the game has a campaign mode. If Sony can get the network up and running before the month of April is over. I believe they will survive but if they can’t, Sony may have one big PR issue after another.
