I personally haven’t been big on third party accessories other then the use of my Tritton AX 720 gaming headset. I’ve felt over the years that many third party accessories haven’t been able to hold up to first party accessories. However, It appears that Mad Catz has something of great interest to me as a competitive gamer. Mad Catz has teamed up with MLG (Major League Gaming) to create a Pro-Circuit controller that will offer a range of customization for gamers. Gamers will have the ability to swap key components of the controller according to their comfort using the ProModule system by Mad Catz’s. What does this all mean? This means if you want to have the layout of the Xbox 360 controller and use it on the PlayStation 3 you can do so with interchangeable components. Same goes for if a gamer wants the PlayStation 3 layout when using it on an Xbox 360. Mad Catz has plans on selling special d-pad and thumb stick modules in different colors, shapes and textures. Along with that the Pro-Circuit controllers will features removable top and side panes. This will allow for signature designs and layouts used by gaming clubs, clans and teams. The Mad Catz MLG Pro-Circuit controller will ship sometime this year, and price has yet to be announced. Update: MLG released information on what will included in each controller box. Below is a list of exactly what you will receive when purchasing either the MLG Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 controller.
It was also stated that they are still going over the numbers to figure out the price but the controller will not cost $160. Source: Major League Gaming news |
